Privacy policy
Who we are. BuyerBuddy is an independent app that helps you organise consumer complaints, run by Vidyut Saha, an individual based in Poland. It is not a law firm, a government service, or connected to any company you complain about. It does not give legal advice and cannot guarantee any outcome.
What we collect. Your email address and password (to sign you in), an optional display name, and the case details you choose to enter: titles, company names, order references, amounts, dates, notes, checklists and message drafts.
If you use “Continue with Google”. Google tells us only your name, email address and profile picture link, so we can create and sign in to your account. We never see your Google password, and we get no access to your Gmail, contacts, files or anything else in your Google account.
What we do not collect. We do not ask for card numbers, bank account details, UPI PINs, Aadhaar, PAN or other ID numbers; please do not enter them. The app does not access your contacts, messages, location or photos, and contains no advertising or third-party tracking.
How we use it. Only to show your cases back to you and to fill in your message templates. Messages are never sent on your behalf: you copy or share them yourself. We do not sell or share your data.
Where it is stored. With our database and sign-in provider, Supabase (data centre in Mumbai, India). Sign-up and password-reset emails are sent through Resend (EU). This website and the web app are hosted by Cloudflare, whose Turnstile check on the sign-in screens tells people from bots; it is not used for advertising. An encrypted backup of the database is made every night and kept for 30 days in our private GitHub account (Microsoft). Data is sent over encrypted connections, and each account can access only its own records, enforced by the database itself.
How long we keep it. Until you delete it. Deleting a case removes it immediately; deleting your account removes everything (see below).
Your choices. You can view, edit and delete your information in the app at any time, or contact us for help.
Your rights. You can see, correct, download or delete your data at any time in the app, or by writing to support@buyerbuddyindia.com; we reply within 30 days. These rights come from India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and, because BuyerBuddy is run from the European Union, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which also lets you complain to a data-protection authority.
Terms of use
By using BuyerBuddy you agree to these terms. They are written in plain language; if anything is unclear, write to us.
The service. BuyerBuddy is free. It helps you organise a consumer complaint, suggests next steps and prepares letters that you send yourself. It is independent: not a law firm, not a government service, and not connected to any company you complain about.
Not legal advice. The steps, checklists and letters are general guidance. They are not legal advice and do not guarantee a refund, replacement, repair or any other result. For a complex or high-value dispute, consider the National Consumer Helpline or a lawyer.
Your responsibilities. Keep your account details safe. Enter only true information, check every letter before you send it, and send it only to the right company or authority. Do not use BuyerBuddy to make false complaints, to harass or threaten anyone, or for anything unlawful, and do not enter other people’s private details or your card, bank, Aadhaar, PAN, OTP or PIN numbers.
Your content. Your complaints and letters belong to you. We store them only to show them back to you, as explained in the privacy policy above, and you can delete them at any time.
Our content. The app, its letter templates, checklists and design belong to Vidyut Saha. You may use them for your own complaints but not copy them into another app, website or product.
Availability and changes. We try to keep BuyerBuddy working and accurate, but it is provided as it is and may sometimes be unavailable or out of date; official contact details can change, so check the official websites. We may improve or change the service, and we may suspend an account that breaks these terms. If we change these terms, we update the date at the top of this page.
Liability. As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for losses that come from using the guidance or letters, or from decisions made by companies or authorities. Nothing in these terms takes away your rights as a consumer under the law.
Contact. Questions about these terms: support@buyerbuddyindia.com.
Delete your account and data
In the app: open BuyerBuddy → Account → Delete account, type DELETE and confirm. Your login and all your cases, timeline entries, checklists, saved messages and preferences are permanently deleted straight away.
Without the app: email support@buyerbuddyindia.com from your registered email address with the subject “BuyerBuddy account deletion”. We will delete your account and all associated data and confirm by email.
Deleted data cannot be recovered. Copies may remain in our provider’s automatic backups for a limited period until those backups expire.
Support
Stay safe. BuyerBuddy never calls you, never asks for money, OTPs or PINs, and never collects refunds for you. Anyone claiming to be BuyerBuddy and asking for these is a scammer.
For help with the app, your account or privacy questions, email support@buyerbuddyindia.com.
Official consumer help in India: the National Consumer Helpline (1915 or 1800-11-4000, consumerhelpline.gov.in) and online Consumer Commission filing through e-Jagriti. Contact details can change; check the official websites.
